Chainsaw Man (Manga): Review (2/4/2021)

Chainsaw Man is probably one of the most unique manga I've read, and that is in part due to how chaotic and bat-shit crazy it is. It isn't afraid to wear its influences on its sleeve (Dorohedoro and JJK, as stated by the author himself), but it still manages to be amazingly unique and wild. The story is mainly just about this poor (in every sense of the word) boy named Denji, who has a demon friend who also lives in his heart who also helps him kill other devils. Don't worry, it will make sense as you read the manga more, much like Dorohedoro. This manga does everything. It has action, interesting worldbuilding, fun characters, and most importantly it's own sense of style. It even made me laugh the hardest from any manga I've ever read from from just 6 pages, during a very memorable scene involving hamburgers. There isn't much else that I can or want to say about Chainsaw Man, because so much of it is just so unique and hard to explain. I also don't want to ...

7 Unique and Stylish Manga (1/20/2021)

Continuing with my previous manga related post (last time about sports manga), this time I'd like to present 7 very stylistic manga. These are not ranked this time, because I love all these manga and I think that they are all worth a read. When I say stylish, I mean that these manga are all very unique, and these stories probably couldn't be published or expressed in anything other than a manga or anime form. They all not only have distinct art styles, they also have unique worlds and relationships that are very far outside of the norm. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Okay, I lied. Jojo is the only manga on this list that I don't actually love. That doesn't mean that I can't recommend it, though. I am not actually a major Jojo's fan, but I do have to admit it is one of the most unique pieces of fiction out there. Despite all the crazy JoJo's fans out there, I do think that the best way to go into JoJo's is knowing nothing about JoJos. Don't expect an ex...

Sports Manga, Ranked (12/30/2020)

By completing Eyeshield 21 today*, I've finally reached 100 completed manga logged on MAL! To celebrate me having literally no life, I'm going to start to rank random manga that I've read, based off of different categories. For example, because my 100th completed manga on MAL was a sports manga, I'm going to rank all the sports manga I've read so far, and show which ones I'd recommend, as well as provide a short review of each manga. I'll also add my ranking (out of 5) at the bottom for a tl;dr. If you want to see my ranking system explained, go to my MAL profile at myanimelist.net/profile/wolfang135. I'm also only going to include traditional sports manga in this particular list, so something like God of Bath won't count. Hinomaruzumou: 3.5/5 An essential sports manga. I thought it was a bit average at first, but it definitely starts to get better in the middle. It gets really good after the time skip too, which is around right in the middle of the...

Falling Down the Mechanical Keyboard Rabbit Hole: Parts 1 & 2 (11/27/2020, 1/10/2021)

Recently, for some reason, a lot of my friends have gotten really into mechanical keyboards. They spend like triple digit dollars on these keyboards, and online the main topic of conversation seems to always be keyboards. At hangouts, they even just bring their keyboards and so they can just sit down and try them out. Personally, I don't really understand it, but I have been trying to at least dip my toes in and understand the basics. I also thought it would be a good idea for me to buy a mechanical keyboard, because my mom also recently bought a new laptop stand for me. It's very uncomfortable to type on the laptop keyboard while it is on the stand, so I would like an external keyboard. Besides this, I have a few issues with my laptop keyboard as it stands. The z key is slightly broken, and also I've played so much Tetris and other games that the A, S, and D keys have all worn off. The z key being broken is the biggest problem, because it makes certain games very hard to ...

3x3s, an overall view on the things I like right now (2/3/2021)

While I was watching the newest trash taste podcast (episode 34), they started talking about their top 9 anime, which they put into a 3x3 square. I think that this idea is super cool, as it is an easy method to quickly understand someone's tastes. I searched online, and I found that people also made 3x3s for a lot of other mediums, like books or TV shows. I thought that this idea was super cool so I'll be making a list of 3x3s so I can keep a record of my current tastes. However, since I haven't consumed a lot of media from certain mediums (for example, I don't watch TV shows or read western comics a lot), so I'll also add a miscellaneous section. For competitive games, I also only made a 2x2, because I haven't actually gotten involved into many different competitive games. Manga (3x3) Attack on Titan Fullmetal Alchemist Onanie master kurosawa Domestic Girlfriend Dorohedoro Genshiken Naruto Three days of Happiness One Punch Man I had a lot of trouble fulfilling...
